Feedback from Property Exhibition A Place in the Sun
I previously reported that Clover Estates were going to attend the World’s largest exhibition of overseas property, appropriately titled ‘A Place in the Sun’, on Friday 29 February 2008 - Sunday 02 March 2008. Now that the event has completed, I thought it an opportune time to provide some feedback from our sales consultants who attended the show.
The City of Manchester was an inspired choice for staging the exhibition, and it would be remiss not to give the location a mention first. Manchester is the regional centre for finance, commerce, retail, culture and leisure and has recently been voted the best city to do business (Omis, 2006). The Manchester Central, formerly GMEX (Greater Manchester Exhibition) was a superb venue for the event, being ideally located in the heart of the city. This visually impressive structure, in its original incarnation, was Manchester Central Station, built for the Cheshire Lines Committee (a group made up of the Great Northern Railway; The Midland Railway; and the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway). The exhibition displays were all housed in the vast refurbished train shed, which measures 550 feet in length, 210 feet wide and has a 90 feet high single arch.
The organisers for the event certainly managed to deliver on the promised entertainment and fulfilled all expectations; providing music and dance routines from around the world, and the country themed café. Amanda Lamb was also on hand to share her considerable experience of buying property abroad.
Our sales consultants were kept very busy over the three day exhibition; booking appointments, inspection trips, and reserving plots at the event. In fact, for us, this must rank as one of the most successful events we have attended. Our latest development, ‘Peach Grove’, proved to be extremely popular with clients with a quarter of all available plots on this site being sold at the exhibition. People travelled from as far afield as Wales and Huddersfield to come and meet our team. Some, who had already spoken with our sales consultants before the show, took the opportunity to attend so that they could put a face to a name/voice. It was also particularly nice that some of our existing clients, who have previously purchased a property from Clover Estates, found the time to call into the show to meet and thank our staff.
