Cabo de Gata
The Cabo De Gata is most famous for its nature reserve which has been protected since 1997, thus the building of new properties in this area is restricted. The parks scenery is maintained and there are no New Villas under construction or been built to spoil the wonderful scenery. In this part of Spain only the cortijos and fincas (old farmhouses) that have been standing for many years can be seen.
The nature park itself is home to all sorts of wonderful creatures being a migrating point for all species of birds. The Cabo de Gata also has a coastline protected from construction and building. The area used to be volcanic and the sea now meets the mountain range to provide spectacular beach coves and caves. All along the coast finding a private secluded cove is easy where the snorkelling is excellent with thousands of varieties of fish and marine live to be seen.
The town of Nijar is particularly famous for hand made crafts and in the streets you can buy ceramic handicrafts and hand woven carpets. Making this and other towns in the Cabo de Gata excellent locations for thousands of tourists.
